While many adults put off going to the dentist, the American Dental Association recommends checkups and cleanings every six months. If this will be your first visit to our office, don’t worry—our friendly staff will make you feel right at home. Here are a few things you should know before your appointment as well as what you can expect when you arrive.
When you first arrive at our office, we’ll get you registered and make sure your information is in our system. Then you’ll head back to meet your dentist. Your dentist will clean your teeth and check your mouth for any problems, such as gum disease, tooth decay, or signs of oral cancer. In some cases, x-rays will be needed in order to give your dentist a full view of your teeth.
After this, you can ask your dentist any questions you may have and he or she may give you tips for how to properly care for your teeth until your next appointment. You will also have the chance to discuss any procedures you might be interested in, such as teeth whitening or filling replacements.
